At PKB, art is not just a passion but a legacy. We believe that investing in exceptional works of the past and the present can inspire us in the future.
In recent decades, art collecting has experienced unprecedented growth among private and institutional investors. Our private art collection dates back to the 1980s and was started by Serafino Trabaldo Togna (1922-2006), a member of the family’s fourth generation. As a private collector himself, Serafino was passionate about fine art and firmly convinced of its value as an investment for future generations. As a Piedmont native, he was first drawn to Renaissance works from Lombardy and later expanded the collection to include modern and contemporary art pieces. Our current collection includes approximately 100 international works dating from the mid-1990s to the present.
As our passion for art also includes the visual arts, PKB forged a partnership with the Musée de l’Elysée in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 2012. The museum is home to a unique collection of more than 100,000 prints and photographic archives. As part of its commitment to preserving and celebrating photography, the museum organises four popular exhibitions each year. PKB was a proud sponsor from 2012 until 2020, and especially engaged in the restoration of collected works by René Burri.
We are pleased to share our extensive network with equally passionate clients who may be looking to connect with experts, acquire appraisals and buy or sell art at auction. As for our collection, it is both a journey through the history of art and a tribute to the art that has held great significance for us over the centuries. We invite you to discover it here or on our premises.
